He is also serving as Washington DC Correspondent of Daily Samakal, one of the leading dailies of Bangladesh since January 2019.

Earlier, Mr. Mobasher was one of the renowned TV Reporters of Bangladesh government owned TV station - Bangladesh Television. During his service in the TV station, he covered a number of government programs that include socio-economic, health and environmental, cultural and political developments. Earlier, he served as International Feature Writer, Translator and Media Associate for both print and electronic organizations where he used to write features, translate feature items, prepare press releases, write reports, make documentaries, produce newsletters and arrange press conferences, develop communication strategy and materials, arrange press conferences, liaison with government, non-government and donor agencies.

Mr. Mobasher served as Information Specialist for the Public Affairs office of the U.S. Embassy - Dhaka, Bangladesh, for about ten years. During this position, his responsibilities were to review Bangla press daily, select, edit and translate items of likely interest to American supervisors, senior Mission officers and/or Washington bureaus. In alternate weeks, preparing daily media reaction/summary report, timely updating American officials on breaking issues broadcasted or uploaded in other media, develop program and implement them, develop database and manage it, prepare visa referral, kept record of journalists' harassment incidents, maintain liaison with VoA and government concerned officials and maintain the Mission Activity Tracker (MAT) database. Also, analyze the role of different media and their style of publication and broadcast of news/features on issues including politics, perception of influential personalities expresses in media, keep record of freedom of speech and journalist repression, keep record and wrote summaries of TV bulletins and TV talk shows from selected TV channels.

Mr. Mobasher had to accompanied American officials in their meetings with editors, government officials and election monitoring team, interpret American officials’ comments to media and address to public gatherings, arrange exclusive interview of USG officials’ for media, provide information to queries from local press. Also, he used to monitor Bangladeshi media, rewrote U.S. government public diplomacy documents on current issues, translate them and send to media for placements, assist foreign journalists on queries, arrange and organize press conferences and interviews for media and send press releases. Also, he used to maintain personal contacts with senior editors, reporters, writers and government officials. During his service with the U.S. Embassy- Dhaka, Mr. Mobasher was awarded with Meritorious Honor Award, Franklin Award and Extra Mile Award. Mr. Mobasher also served as Publicity Secretary for Bangladesh Public Relations Association (BPRA) and as Executive Committee Member for Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association (DUMCJAA).

Mr. Mobasher is very proud of serving as Communication Officer for National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) project of the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Funded by UNDP, the project was implemented by the International Union of Conservation Nature (IUCN) - Bangladesh Country Office.

Mr. Mobasher holds Master of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism and Master of Public Affairs in Governance and Public Policy from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
